Event Security / Staff – Course Description

The Event Security / Staff Training Course prepares students to work effectively and professionally in large gatherings such as concerts, festivals, sporting events, private functions, and community events. Event security staff play a critical role in ensuring safety, maintaining order, and providing customer service while complying with Texas laws and professional standards.

This course blends security fundamentals with crowd management techniques and emphasizes communication, situational awareness, and teamwork in fast-paced environments.

Course Highlights:

• Introduction to Event Security: Roles, responsibilities, and expectations of event security staff.

• Crowd Management: Controlling entry and exit points, monitoring flow, and managing high-volume crowds.

• Access Control: Credential checks, bag searches, and prohibited item enforcement.

• Conflict Resolution: Verbal de-escalation techniques and managing disruptive or intoxicated individuals.

• Emergency Procedures: Evacuation planning, medical response coordination, and incident reporting.

• Observation & Communication: Identifying suspicious behavior, using radios, and relaying critical information.

• Customer Service & Professionalism: Balancing safety duties with guest assistance and public relations.

• Legal Considerations: Texas laws on trespass, use of force, and liability in event security.

Requirements:

• Must be at least 18 years old.

• Must hold a valid Texas Driver’s License or State ID.

• Students should be able to stand for extended periods and work in high-crowd environments.

Certification:

Upon successful completion of the training, students will receive a Certificate of Completion from Texas Elite Academy. This certificate demonstrates competency in event and venue security operations and may be used to secure employment with private security companies, event venues, or staffing agencies.
