Pepper Spray Training – Course Description

The Pepper Spray Training Course provides students with the knowledge and skills to safely and effectively carry and deploy pepper spray (OC – Oleoresin Capsicum) as a less-lethal defensive option. This course is designed for security officers, law enforcement personnel, and civilians seeking to enhance their personal protection skills with a non-lethal tool.

Students will learn the legal considerations, physiological effects, safe handling, and deployment techniques for pepper spray. Hands-on practice and scenario-based training are included to build confidence and ensure safe application.

Course Highlights:

• Introduction to OC Spray: History, composition, and effectiveness of pepper spray.

• Legal Aspects: Texas laws regarding possession, carry, and use of chemical agents.

• Physiological Effects: Understanding how pepper spray impacts the human body.

• Safety & Handling: Proper carrying methods, retention, and storage practices.

• Deployment Techniques: Stance, aiming, spraying patterns, and disengagement drills.

• Decontamination Procedures: Safe and effective methods for aftercare and treatment.

• Scenario-Based Training: Practical exercises in controlled environments.

Requirements:

• Must be at least 18 years old.

• Must hold a valid Texas Driver’s License or State ID.

• Students should wear clothing suitable for physical drills.

• Protective eyewear will be provided for training scenarios.

Certification:

Upon successful completion of the Pepper Spray Training, students will receive a Certificate of Completion from Texas Elite Academy. This certificate demonstrates competency in the safe handling, legal understanding, and effective use of pepper spray as a less-lethal defensive tool.
