Michael Garza serves as a Director of Firearms and Tactical Programs for Texas Elite Academy, where he provides oversight and instruction in firearms safety, tactical readiness, and emergency preparedness for private security professionals and the general public across Texas. Backed by over two decades of experience in both public safety and corporate security, Mr. Garza is a certified Firearms Instructor through the National Rifle Association (NRA) and the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS). He is also a certified Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED Instructor, committed to ensuring safety training is delivered with precision, clarity, and relevance.

Mr. Garza’s early public safety career began at the Webb County Sheriff’s Department, where he served as a Telecommunications Supervisor and Certified Corrections Officer, handling 911 emergency communications, NCIC/TCIC criminal databases, and dispatch coordination. He further supported law enforcement operations as a Telecommunication Specialist Supervisor at Texas A&M International University Police Department, where he managed emergency call routing and coordinated field officer deployment during critical incidents.

Transitioning into private sector leadership, Mr. Garza held executive roles in Loss Prevention and Security Investigations, including District Loss Prevention Manager for Builder’s Square and Loss Prevention Manager at Best Buy, overseeing internal theft investigations, CCTV surveillance, employee training, and regulatory compliance across multiple retail sites. His private investigations experience, combined with his understanding of physical security systems and risk mitigation strategies, has made him a trusted advisor in the areas of threat assessment and asset protection.

In addition to his extensive security background, Mr. Garza has served as Sales and Floor Manager, F&I Manager, and Operations Supervisor across several high-volume dealerships. His expertise in leadership, training, and organizational accountability transferred seamlessly into academy operations, where he now focuses on building curriculum, certifying firearms instructors, and mentoring security personnel under Texas Department of Public Safety standards.

Michael Garza is bilingual (English/Spanish) and holds numerous certifications in 911 communications, ADA compliance, CPR/First Aid, Cultural Diversity, and tactical communication. His academic background includes training through Pan American University, Laredo College, and TAMIU, and he is a graduate of the L.C.C. Regional Police Academy in Corrections and Telecommunications.

Today, Mr. Garza plays a vital leadership role in the development and expansion of Texas Elite Academy’s training operations, delivering high-impact instruction with a foundation rooted in discipline, service, and professional excellence.
